School Site Committees

School Site Council (SSC)

The SSC is an elected decision-making group comprised of parents, community members, site administrators, teachers and other staff.  The SSC has an ongoing responsibility to develop, implement, monitor and evaluate the site plan. The SSC also oversees all the categorical funds such as Title I, Second Language and GATE.

For more information and if you would like to be a member of the iMiddle SSC, please contact Lupe Velez-Figueroa at [email protected].   Elections are held once a year in August/September 2025.   SSC meetings will be Microsoft Teams & in person.  First meeting is September 22, 2025. 25-26 Meeting dates are: 9/22, 10/27, 12/15, 1/26, 2/23, 3/23, 4/20, 5/18.

Site Governance Team (SGT)

The purpose of the Site Governance Team (SGT) is to ensure that teachers, parents, and administration work together on important issues involving the students. These include issues related to the use of our physical facilities, school dress code, discipline, fundraising and parent communication. The SGT also may make recommendations to the School Site Council (SSC) on budgetary matters related to ensuring academic achievement.

ELAC Committee

Schools which have twenty-one or more English as a Second Language (ESL) students also have an English Learner Advisory Committee. Parents of English Learners serves as the advisory body to the school on four key issues:

  • The school plan for English learners

  • Needs assessment

  • Administration of the language census

  • Efforts to make parents aware of the importance of attendance
